Klingon Empire NetBox Network Buildout Report
Date: May 2026
FMCP Version: 0.6
Agent: GPT
Report date: May 7, 2026
Designer: GPT
Configurer: GPT
Implementor: GPT
Implementation platform: NetBox MCP
Connection path: Configuration work was performed over an ngrok connection to the NetBox server.
Executive Summary
GPT designed, configured, and implemented a Klingon Empire network buildout in NetBox. The buildout established a new Klingon operational region, supporting sites, device roles, device types, IPAM hierarchy, VLANs, devices, interfaces, and assigned IP addresses with DNS names.
The network was created as a structured NetBox source-of-truth model for a Klingon infrastructure environment intended to rival and overtake the existing Starfleet/Federation-themed network.
Scope of Work
The implementation included:
- DCIM region creation
- Site creation
- Manufacturer creation
- Device role creation
- Device type creation
- IPAM RIR, VRF, aggregate, and prefix creation
- VLAN group and VLAN creation
- Device creation
- Interface creation
- IP address assignment
- DNS-name assignment on NetBox IP address objects
- Post-build verification through NetBox readback queries
Implementation Notes
All configuration actions were performed by GPT through the NetBox MCP interface.
The NetBox server was accessed through an ngrok connection during the implementation process.
The original site name Qo'noS Prime was normalized to Qonos Prime because the MCP safety layer blocked the apostrophe-bearing payload. The operational meaning remains the Klingon homeworld command site.

Verification Summary
GPT performed readback verification through the NetBox MCP after implementation.
Verified outcomes:
- The six
iks-*Klingon devices exist in NetBox. - Each implemented device has one assigned interface.
- Each loopback or service address was created in the Klingon Imperial VRF.
- DNS names were assigned to all six implemented IP address objects.
- The Klingon IPAM, VLAN, site, device-role, and device-type structures are present in NetBox.
Implementation Caveats
- The buildout was implemented through the available NetBox MCP object model rather than direct NetBox UI access.
- The MCP connection accepted the normalized site name
Qonos Prime; the apostrophe version ofQo'noS Primewas not used. - Physical cabling, racks, rack positions, LAGs, BGP sessions, config templates, and rendered device configurations were not implemented in this pass.
- Device primary IP fields were not explicitly updated after IP assignment; IPs were created and assigned to the appropriate interfaces.
Result
The Klingon Empire network source-of-truth foundation has been established in NetBox by GPT.
